When starting up your own business the amount of work that must inevitably be done is staggering. We are all well versed in the Idea of procrastination especially us college students however when running your own business it is important that you can alleviate your symptoms of chronic procrastination. So here they are four tips to banish procrastination:
Narrow your focus: As a distinguished procrastinator I find myself more often than not looking at the bigger picture. I think oh my god you want me to do what, by this stage my chronic procrastiantion has already swung into full efffect and every excuse under the sun comes flying out to allow me not to do something. Business is the same there are so many not so glamerous mundane task that your company is simply not sucessful enought to hire someone to do it for you. My key bit of advice is to forget the forest and concentrate on the indivdual tasks at hand the trees!!
Reward yourself
When u have complete a task make sure you reward yourself! Make some personal time. At the end of the day you are your own boss so you need to make the rules to keep your workers motivated ie You
Make yourself accountable
Make your goals and tasks accountable, sometimes it is difficult to have so much free reign that if you make yourself accountable it is often a good way to remove procrastination as you have to not only fail yourself but also your friends and family!
Keep it going
Once you go don’t stop. Turn off all your notifications from emails calls etc.. once you begin to be productive work hard until it is complete and then return to the other tasks that aren’t to pressing.
